GenTech: Economic significance of helium recovery cycle solution proves practical and feasible

Ms. Shi Yun, general manager of GenTech Electronic Material Development Departmentmentioned in her speech that heat transfer medium in optical fiber sintering process and heliumappliedfor cooling in drawing process are currently emptied directly or emptied after entering the exhaust gas treatment system, resulting in helium resource waste.Chinais helium insufficient, mainly relyingonheliumimport, self-sufficiency is less than 1%.China optical fiber manufacturing capacity accounts for more than 50% of the world.Heliumrecovery and recycling is of great significance to resource conservation and supply guarantee. Taking the optical fiber industryforexample, the helium recycling system developed by GenTechappliesadvanced separation and purification technology to recover and purify helium in the tail gas of the preform process, recyclingit.
At present, GenTech helium recovery cycle solution has been verified by multiplecustomers at home and abroad.Purity of recovered helium reaches 99.999% andheliumrecovery rate reaches 70%.Purified helium is directly reused in preform synthesis process, significantly reducing costs of raw materials for customers, achievingefficient reuse of resources.
